MY SELF PORTRAIT

  I REALLY HAD NO IDEA WHAT I WWAS GOING TO DO FOR THE SELF PORTRAIT. PROJECTING THE IMAGES ON THE WALL GAVE ME THE IDEA FOR IT AND I WAS HAPPY TOO GET IT FINISHED.. HAD ABSOLUTELY NO CLUE WHAT I WAS DOING ON PHOTOSHOP THOUGH BUT WAS HAPPY WITH THE OUTCOME..

SHADOWS

    USING MY NEW TORCH I DECIDED TO PROJECT THE SHADOWS ON THE OPPOSITE WALL IN MY STUDIO SPACE.. I REALLY ENJOYED PLAYING AROUND WITH LIGHT AND SHADOW..

MORE LIGHT

 

I BOUGHT A TORCH FOR 2 EURO WHICH I WAS DELIGHTED WITH AND CAME INTO COLLEGE LATE AT NIGHT TO SEE THE EFFECT THE THE UNATURAL LIGHT HAD ON THE PIECE.. I THOUGHT IT HAD A NICE EFFECT..

LIGHT

  THE DAY AFTER PUTTING THIS PIECE UP ON THE WALL IT WAS A NICE DAY AND THE SUN MADE INTERESTING SHADOWS ON THE WALL.. HOW UNEXPECTED.. IM GOING TO DOO MORE STUFF WITH LIGHT AND SHADOWS NOW AND SEE WHERE THAT TAKES ME..

I was messing around with paper and shapes recently. I really like the idea of manipulating something that was a flat object and changing it into something else..
So far this is my favourite thing that I have made, probably because I had the most fun making this and there was numerous ways that I could make it bend which was fun!!

AND MORE PAPER

 When I was playing around with the paper earlier and making the different shapes for things that I was making I took a couple of photos of them from different angles that I found interesting..

We got a talk on weaving too and I thought I would give it a shot using paper.. When i looked at these old images that I took it gave me the idea tto weave the paper through but make it interesting weaving some of the paper tighter than the others..

I found it fun to make and was pleased with how it turned out..

MORE PAPER

Des suggested that I make the grid patterns more 3D.. I played around a bit with making a 3D grid pattern out of paper. however it turned out horribly and I wasnt able to move it at all and wasnt what I was going for at all.. Ohh well

PAPER

 So I decided to make these patterns that i saw out of paper because i wasnt really sure what to use.. Anyways I enjoyed making these out of paper because it was something that I never really tried before. I think that I will be playing around with papaer more often!!

I took these photos todayof a pavemwnt near the college. i thought it was an interesting pttern and how different it looks from above compared to the side view..

I was told by des and Giordana that I needed to take more photos from around the cities for inspiration. So I  went out and took photos of some grid patterns that I saw around the city for some priamry research.

GRID PATTERNS

Exploring more variations of manipulating grid patterns.. I like the the idea of the one on top which is a collage of magazine cut outs.. I might do more of these and see where I go with them..
